Day Three

So it's starting to sink in that I'm no longer working for "The Company" that I've been employed with since I got out of high school.

It's a weird sense of "What do I do now?" and quite frightening.

I have no formal post-secondary education and all my job experience is completely tailored to "The Company".

I'm not really sure what else I could do as a career.

I have a wife, a mortgage and a life that I have to continue somehow...but where am I going to find another job that even comes close to paying me the salary I was making and has the same amount of benefits I was receiving?

Nowhere.

That's what I'm scared of.

Day One

So let me first preface this by explaining my situation.

I am currently 31 years old and as of yesterday, I was laid off of the job I had worked for the last 13 years of my life.

I've never known another job and I have NO idea what I'm going to do next.

This blog is pretty much to help occupy my time and allow me to say things here that I will probably have difficulty saying in person.
